Well, I survived. What an experience. I found myself smack in the middle of planning a huge, multi - county event. It just so happens that is was on a holiday and that the heat index broke records (103 degrees, hottest in over 20 years). Even with two strikes against us, we were able to have about 1500 in attendance. The day was long for the volunteers as we were out at the site from 7 am will about midnight. In the end it was well worth it. People are fed up. They are willing to brave the heat to be counted. They want to be on emails lists and stand ready to make their voices heard. I hope that we will make a difference. I hope people will use their anger to write their representatives, call their representatives and VOTE their beliefs.
Our core group kept growing. We had amazing people step up to volunteer time, energy and money for this rally. We had people come to the rally and volunteer on the spot.
Be sure to visit www.katytea.com so see what we are all about and what we have yet in the works.
Thanks for all or your prayers regarding this endeavor. I felt them. Much is yet to come from this group we call the:

The questions remain Kris.
How many of these Tea Party "patriots" voted for McCain in the 2008 elections? The same McCain remind you that flew off the campaign trail only to vote for the first bailout that brought us to this point?
Where is their credibility to sit there at a tea party holding a sign that reads: "Give me liberty not a bailout?"
What's more, how many of these tea party "patriots" will once again fall in line and vote for the status quo time and time again?
Have they only become upset because Obama and Co. have doubled down on the bailouts? Where is the principle in that (suggesting that maybe "a small bailout" might be okay...).
While it is true that some of the tea party goers were in fact opposed to the Bush bailouts, I don't think for a minute that they comprise the majority of goers.
Premises are either accepted or they are not. Those who voted for McCain in 2008 accepted the premise of bailouts period. Despite their assertions to the contrary, there was little difference between he and Obama in economic affairs. And that was the problem.
You may be right Soapie but I am glad that so many people are speaking out about the growing government, and would hope no matter which party is in office that we Americans from now on will keep a watch on our elected officials and hold them accountable to their fiduciary duty with our tax dollars, and their duty to the Constitution. Who they voted for in the past in history, we've got to move forward and protect our freedoms!
Congratulations Kris on a job well done!
